FACE OF SURVIVAL

I don't know what you are going through right now but what I know is that God expects us to look beyond our present circumstances and situations. In fact, He wants us to experience abundance, despite the choking penury around us; health instead of sickness and disease, even if you are confined to an hospital bed right now; possibilities in place of impossibilities; fruitfulness instead of barrenness; riches and wealth in place of lack and want; motion instead of stagnation; marital breakthrough in place of broken relationship etc.

As far as God is concerned, breakthrough begins in the mind. If you can imagine it; see what ought to be in your mind’s eyes, despite what is on the ground, He (God) would step in. Remember He has assured us that none of our godly expectations or hope would be dashed. You have already shut the door of breakthrough against yourself if your mind is blank; without any hope, expectations or dreams. Dare to expect something; hope for something, even if you don’t know how it will materialize.

Let me conclude this piece with this: The capacity to see is a function of faith, not age. Abram was aged, yet God told him he could still see. Jeremiah was a mere child, yet he saw. You, too, can “see”, despite your age and or level. Again, seeing, in this context, has nothing to do with your physical eyes. You can be physically blind but seeing paradise in your mind’s eyes. Conversely, you are blind and condemned to a life of gloom and doom if you are blinded in your  mind or spirit, even if your two eyes are wide open.  This, of course, is a worse form of blindness.

Like Jeremiah, God is asking you right now “WHAT DO YOU SEE" May He hasten the manifestation of all you are dreaming of in Jesus’ name!

Gratitude is the platform for altitude in life. A lot of people do not see reason(s) to be grateful to God. They complain persistently for lack of food, jobs, spouse, particular sex of child(ren) and other material things. Some even curse God for the way they were created, their looks, heights, complexion, and for the present situations they are passing through. They've refused to acknowledge God's mercy and protections that kept them alive and in good health, which is above all things. Am here to share a piece of my own life experience with you. After going through this piece you will see the reason(s) to glorify God and fight on for the fulfillment of your life purpose.

I was born into the family of Rev. Pius and Deaconess Caroline Okun. I am the fourth daughter of a family of seven.
Right from birth, I was diagnosed of NASAL BONY CHOANAL ATRESIA (A respiratory disorder whereby one nostril, was blocked)

l was told by my parents that I had catarrh right from birth and that my nose never dried up for once when l was a little girl; little did they know that it was a blockage in my nostril. I was only a child that didn't know pains but when I grew up to a stage I could explain my pains.

In as much as I am greatly talented and involved in so many activities in my local church then, I couldn't go far due to the excruciating pains I went through.
It just kept increasing to the point that people began to see me as a demonic, cursed child and as an agent from hell sent on a mission to destroy my family and the church. I went through series of medical test, but nothing positive came out of them. At a point it was as if I was a sickle cell patient but I wasn't.

In addition, in the year I999, the doctor confirmed that I had spleen problem and while I was battling with it, I was again diagnosed of appendicitis, it was so terrible that sometimes I fell down along the street, during choir, drama and dance rehearsals, sometimes I collapsed at home.

On the 11th of July, 2000 I went for the appendicitis operation and after the operation I was discharged 3 days after. A week later, I discovered that the area I was operated upon began to swell hence I was taken back to the clinic for check-up. After a careful examination the doctor discovered that portion of the cotton wool used for the operation was in my stomach  (which means they forgot it during the process of the operation thank God nothing serious had happened to me) The affected area was re-opened and the cotton wool was taken out from my stomach. At this point I concluded that the problem was over not knowing that the exact problem just began.
The sickness continued, the struggle increased, the chest pain never stopped, catarrh never dried, my right nostril never opened and I usually have unbearable pain every year it gets to the season I did the operation. It went on and progressed to another stage of shame and sorrow.

With all the pains you are going through in life stay positive and know that you are beautiful in every way and that pain gives birth to praise just like a woman in travail to bring forth a child, after the tears, the pains comes the laughter, celebration and praise. Just hold on and see your praise in your pain. 

No matter what trial, grief, trouble or challenge we face, there is comfort in reminding ourselves that it's temporary. Some are very short-lived—the time crunch of a deadline, the pain of recovering from surgery, waiting for results of a test or an application. We can remind ourselves, "By this time next week (or month), this will be behind me. This too shall pass."

Some are very long-term—a permanent disability like The death of a loved one, or a marriage, or a cherished dream. The realization that God is choosing to give us grace for, not deliverance from, our thorn in the flesh. Even so, when we remember that our time on this earth is short compared to our life on the new earth, we can remind ourselves, "A hundred years from today, this trial will be just a memory. I can either be glad for how I handled it, or regret the short-sighted choices I made. Because this too shall pass."
